put Fresno State up 2-0. The first run was unearned, as Haley Gilleland was aboard on a dropped fly ball off the glove of Bruin right fielder Sam Camuso.
> The Bruins answer right back with 2 runs in the top of the second with a Camuso 2-run HR.
>The score remained tied until the UCLA sixth when a Rebecca Walker fielding error kept the inning alive for the Bruins to take advantage of, making it a 6-2 game after Monica Harrison's 3-run home run.

>The Bulldogs make 4 first inning runs stand up to win 4-3. They had to, since Aztec relief pitcher Bailey Micetich came on in the first inning after starter Samantha Beasley was hit hard by the Bulldogs (1/3 inn., 4R, 3H, 2BB, 1 HBP), the highlight being a 3-run, no-doubter, into-the-leftfield-trees home run by Courtney Moore. After yielding a single to Becca Walker for the fourth run of the game, Micetich was perfect, retiring the next 17 batters.
>Michelle Moses pitched for Fresno State, earning her 12th win of the season.

>Morgan Melloh throws her 5th shutout of the year, improves to 18-10 and strikes out 12.
>Fresno State had a 1-0 lead going into the 6th inning, when they erupted for five runs on five hits via a leadoff walk to Alexis Lujan, a home run by Nicole Angene to left center. After Becca Walker flied out, Brooke Phipps doubled high off the left-center field wall followed by Haley Gilleland's laser liner that hit the bottom of the left-field foulpole screen. That made the score 5-0. After a SMC pitching change, Michelle Moses doubled down the left-field line and took third on an errant return throw by the outfielder. Courtney Moore capped the scoring with an infield single to plate Michelle.
>The Gael's only serious threat to score was in the top of the seventh when they loaded the bases with one out, but Melloh was able to finish the shutout on a comebacker and a strikeout.

> Michelle Moses gets the start and strikes out the first 13 batters to face her, a school record for consecutive batters struck out (Prev. record: 9, by Robin Mackin in 2007 and Kristen Hunter in 1999). Michelle went on to K 18 in the game, another school record for most in a 7-inning game (Prev. record 17 by Mackin in 2006). Michelle only gave up two hits and two walks in her third shutout of the season, and improves to 9-1.
>Courtney Moore had the hot bat for the Bulldogs, with a 2-run HR and a double.

>Michelle Moses allows only one run on a home run to Angie Ortega en route to her 8th win of the season. She struck out 8. Michelle also hit a dinger of her own, a two-run big fly to left in the third inning.

>Haley Gilleland powered up with a triple to lead off the Bulldog offense (she scored on an errant throw from the right fielder enabled her to make the full circuit). Haley G also hit a solo home run, which proved to be the difference, leading off the sixth inning.
>Mackenzie Oakes started but struggled in the second inning before giving way to Morgan Melloh. Morgan earned the win, but gave up two home runs to the Aggies' Hoku Nohara, Nohara's 13th and 14th of the year. Morgan struck out ten.
>Caitlin Stiglich had a first inning 3-run HR.. She was 2-for-2 with a walk.
>Lima Coronado was 2-for-3 with an RBI.

>Nicole Angene leads off the eighth inning with a walk-off HR, a no-doubter to left.
>Michelle Moses pitches well, but comes out of the game with the game tied in the 7th. She struck out 8 and allowed two walks and only three hits in 6-1/3 innings. Two of those hits were monster home runs by Tiare Jennings and Angie Ortega. Ortega's shot hit the left-center light pole. Only one of the Aggie runs were earned.
>Haley Gilleland was 2-for-3 with a walk, and stole two bases, including her 51st career stolen base in the first inning to pass Becky "The Rabbit" Witt for tops in that category.
>Morgan Melloh gets the win in 1-1/3 innings of relief.

>The Bulldogs had good chances to score in the second and third innings, but are unable to push a runner across the plate. Second inning: leadoff singles by Stiglich and Coronado and a sac by Angene, but no more. Third inning: leadoff triple by Haley G., but she's cut down at the plate as part of a double play.
>Mackenzie Oakes gets the start, but takes the loss. She was pulled from the game with two on and no outs in the sixth inning. Michelle Moses came on in relief, but yields a sac fly.

>Morgan Melloh gets the start and gets the win with a ten-K performance in her fourth shutout of the year. She gave up 3 hits and 5 walks. No Spartan got past second base.

>Michelle Moses drove in all four runs with two HRs, a solo job in the first and a 3-run one in the sixth. She now has 15 for the season.
